Refugees, crisis or miracle?

There is wide disagreement, about whether refugees should stay here in Denmark or get out of here, and if they should keep on coming. This is one of the biggest discusses here in Denmark. But what does the young 15 to 16 years old mean about the topic?

Jonas Hvas, Jonathan Damgaard, Jonatan Rabjerg and Jeppe Damgaard from Frøstruphave Efterskole has been asked about what their thoughts of refugees are, and 3 of them (Jonatan, Jonathan and Jeppe), had some way the same thoughts about it; that it’s okay to have them here but too many could make it problematic. Jonas Hvas said that they are some way welcome and in another way not. The reason is that, he can see the problem for them, but he thinks that the refugees are making too many changes, on something that works here in Denmark. The last one has a whole different though about it. Mikkel Kruse does not like refugees. He means that they are taking our money and they need to just help themselves.

About prejudices, they all agreed that they couldn’t stop thinking about some of those bad things you hear in the media, and Mikkel Kruse also said that the first he thinks when he sees a refugee is terrorist. Which could be problematic for everyone, because it’s hard to talk to each other if you think they are doing criminal things and fear them.

After refugees are hearing these prejudices on them, they need to have a lot of courage to go and talk with Danes. When the people are just thinking they are terrorists or just criminals. Though Danes need to be brave too, to just go and talk with the refugees and stop having those thoughts about them.

When it comes to the question about helping others, then everyone agreed that we need to help them to get rid of the problems in their own country, and Jonatan said that we need to stop giving them a bad reputation in the media. Then it could also help us to get rid of the bad prejudices.
