January 19, 2017, Trump got elected as President. Many Americans were excited about how the new president would make changes in the country. Donald Trump’s historic victory at the US presidential election is one of the biggest upsets ever in American political history, and some months after Trump’s victory his ratings fell a lot because of his actions.

An American’s opinion about Donald Trump
I asked Mary Madsen, an American citizen, what she thought about the new president of America. Was she happy that Donald Trump became president? NO! Because he is a very unprofessional man, and he has no experience as a leader. Still he rules one of the biggest countries in the world, and that could lead to problems, she explained. Mary also thinks that Donald Trump is a bad president because he is bad at communicating with other leaders in the world. A lot of other people in America agree with Mary, about Trump being an unprofessional man, and that he doesn’t have the skills it takes to rule a country.
I asked Mary if she could say something positive that Trump has done as the President of USA. She said that here in Denmark the media doesn’t say a lot of positive things about Trump. Therefor she couldn’t find any positive things Trump had done, and a lot of Danish people find it hard to say something nice about Trump’s achievements too.
Mary thinks that she is a very positive woman. She tries to find the positive things in every situation, but in this case, she has a hard time finding the good things. She could find one thing though, but it was not something he had done on purpose. Ever since he got elected as president he has brought the country closer together. The American people realized that they had to stick together, now that they have a crazy guy as their president.
Last, I asked Mary if she thinks it takes courage to stand against Trump. She doesn’t think it takes courage because most people you talk to in the US about Trump doesn’t support him. From her point of view, it requires more courage to support Trump because supporters of Trump can get a lot of hate.
